Surge of investments in derelict facilities.

At the same time, there are 450 brown-field facilities at disposal to the business community that can start operating, both for the needs of domestic and foreign investors

Abandoned factories and closed mines are awakening from their winter sleep, and employers start going back to work. The policies for attracting foreign investments start giving results. There are companies that enter Macedonia and invest in derelict facilities, which were abandoned for so long.

Unlike before when factories were shut down and workers were left on the streets, now, new facilities are opening and old facilities are restarted. That is the case with "Porcelanka" factory in Veles that is now managed by Indian Group "BRG" for making steel products and kitchen utensils made of stainless steel. BRG company decided that Macedonia is an attractive location to place their products on the European market.

-Our factory in Veles is located in the existing facilities of "Porcelanka" factory and is focused on the production of steel products which will be placed on the markets in Europe, North Africa and Near East. Veles will again thrive as the center of quality products, said Senai Bandari from Indian Group "BRG".

In the meantime, 1,000 jobs will be created, the production will increase, and the industry of minerals and raw materials will improve. Bulgarian Company "Minstroy" officially became the new concessioner of "Zletovo" and "Toranica" mines, and decided to keep all employees and compensate their unsettled salaries. The new concessioner will start the mine excavation by mid-May.

Three companies from different countries are interested for the facility of bankrupt company EMO Ohrid, for which negotiations are ongoing.
