Support diabetes day; LETTERS to the EDITOR.

I AM WRITING to ask you to encourage your readers to support leading health charity Diabetes UK on World Diabetes Day on Saturday November 14.

I have had Type 1 diabetes since I was 17 and know just how much it can affect every area of your life. I have recently taken a diabetes education course which helped me to understand and manage my diabetes.

Now Diabetes UK is calling for better education, more psychological support and quality tailored-information for people with diabetes.

There are 3 million people with diabetes in the UK and this number is set to rise to more than 4 million by 2025. If the condition is not managed well, diabetes can lead to devastating complications such as heart disease, stroke and amputation - so it is vital that we do all we can to help people control their diabetes. Please visit
