Three-inch rotary union

The Series E75 three-inch rotary union is designed specifically for the rubber processing industry. The mechanical seal design will handle speeds of 500 rpm and temperatures up to 250 [degrees] F. Rubber mills, calenders and mixers are said to have applications for this rotary union. With the addition of the three-inch size, the company is said to offer a complete range of rotary unions in sizes 3/8" to 3" for the rubber processing industry. (Barco)

Injection molding machine

The 968ZO rubber injection molding machines are based on vertically stroking clamp units with the company's first in, first out top mounted injection units. The Model 968.250ZOV with 280 tons of clamping force features fully hydraulic clamping, while retaining a platen surface height of less than 40 inches for ease of operator access without the need for a platform. The machine is available with a range of shot capacities from two to ten pounds. Automatic spraying system

The AutoJet automatic spraying system is said to be an easy to use modular system offering controlled, precise automatic spraying. Along with enhancing the performance of automatic spray guns, the Auto Jet system is said to provide the convenience of a fully integrated spraying system at a cost-efficient price. Designed to spray everything from small dots to a smooth, uniform coating, this system is said to be ideal for any low flow rate spray application, such as moistening, lubricating, cooling or coating of rubber and plastics. The AutoJet's 1250 dual purpose controller/driver operates as a stand-alone controller or a high-speed driver to provide increased speed and precise spray control, according to the company. The Dust-Hog Supra-Blast is available as either a single-or double-filter configuration. The Supra-Blast is said to remove dust, fumes, composites, powders and other pollutants while delivering more cubic feet of air per minute than any other dust collector currently available, according to the manufacturer. Cold feed ram extruder

The Force 10 cold feed ram extruder has been introduced by this manufacturer of hydraulic ram-type extruders (or preformers) and other polymer processing machinery. Capable of pressures up to 10,000 psi, the Force 10 requires no preheating of materials. This is made possible with the combination of high pressure and one or a series of viscosity modulation plates at the forward end of the extrusion cylinder, before entry into the die. Roll mills, screw extruders, heating batchs and warming chambers are no longer necessary for preheating, according to the manufacturer. The higher pressure of the Force 10 allows in-line filtration of materials, which is said to improve product quality. Controlled flow is said to allow accurate and consistent pellet size. These high pressures also allow ceramic materials, such as pastes and powders, to be processed into accurate consolidated extrusion profiles. The Force 10 can also be operated as a conventional ram extruder/preformer where harder materials fed from a mill need in excess of 5,000 psi for proper production outputs. (Barwell)

Sealants processing

The Pressdisperger mixer is available for the processing of moisture sensitive sealant formulations. The Pressdisperger is said to be a proven design for mixing and discharging viscous sealant formulations. The high speed mixing impeller moves vertically in the batch during the mixing and dispersing cycle, which is said to insure complete mixing of raw materials. Standard procedure is to add all liquid ingredients, excluding the catalyst, and to completely disperse. Upon completion of the initial liquid dispersion, fumed silica is added using the vacuum of the mixer. Silica introduction is fast and dispersion complete within a very short time, according to the company. Cleated belt puller design

A cleated and smooth belt puller design with a self-adjusting upper belt for heavy duty extrusion applications has been introduced. This design is said to be ideal for the manufacturing of large profiles, pipe and new composite lumber products. The puller's design incorporates a self-adjusting and air-actuated upper belt assembly that maintains constant belt pressure and pulling power on the extrudate, even when the product diameter or thickness varies to extreme conditions. This self-adjusting feature is said to be especially helpful during line startups, eliminating the need for an operator to constantly adjust the belt openining to compensate for product variations. These heavy duty smooth and cleated belt pullers range from belt widths of six inches, with contact lengths over 84 inches. Other standard features include four-post design, double or triple chain driven belts with an automatic chain drive tensioner, standard 3 hp drive system, etc. (ESI Extrusion Services)

Belt conveyor oven

The No. 792 gas-heated belt conveyor oven is currently used for curing mold release on steel molds. This unit has a maximum operating temperature of 750 [degrees] F and workspace dimensions of 42"w x 12'd x 12" h. The conveyor consists of a 4' long open belt loading zone, 1' long insulated unheated entrance vestibule, 12' long insulated heat zone with recirculated airflow, 1' long open zone, 2' long cooling zone and 2' long open unloading zone. Heat for this unit is provided by 800,000 btu/hr installed in a modulating natural gas burner. (Grieve)

Extrusion molding system Yellow Jacket specimen extrusion molding systems are said to be ideal for quickly making ASTM, ISO standardized test specimens, color matching stepped or single level chips, and chips for plating, coating, weathering and painting testing purposes. The system is said to offer a significant cost advantage to processors, according to the company.
