Supermarket creates 20 new jobs: Stalco Construction.

Stalco Construction, Inc. completed the $1.5-million expansion and complete renovation of the IGA Supermarket in Southold, NY.

Stalco served the owners, Thomas and Charles Reichert, as general contractor for the 25,000 s/f retail facility located at 54566 Route 25 in Southold on Long Island. Following the expansion, the supermarket hired needy 20 new full and part-time employees.

The office of John A. Grille, Architect, PC served as architect and interior designer for the new supermarket. According to Stalco president and partner Alan Nahmias, "The project encompassed a complete renovation of a pre-existing one-story building with a full basement, demolition and reconstruction of sections of the exterior wall and steel structure, a new roof, interior demolition, all new interior finishes, and new building systems."

The new supermarket features the 12,000 s/f main sales floor, separate dell and butcher shop sections, 1,600 s/f cash register area, 6,000 s/ for storage in the basement, manager's office and new hydraulic elevator
