Superhero help for kids.

CAPE-WEARING under-fives are being asked to come to the aid of needy children by taking part in an annual sponsored walk at Dudley Zoo and Castle.

The theme of this year's Barnardo's Big Toddle is super heroes, and tots are invited to sign up now for their own heroic deeds at the venue on June 12, 13, 14 and 21.

Three thousand toddling heroes are expected to take part and so far 1,400 have signed up.

Black Country toddlers who took part in the animal-themed Barnardo's Big Toddle in 2011 raised pounds 14,600 and the total amount raised in the West Midlands area was over pounds 56,000.

The money helps Barnardo's run 75 community-based services in the Midlands supporting 26,000 children, young people and their families affected by poverty, abuse, disability and serious illness. Other Toddles will be staged across the UK.

To organise your own Big Toddle event, visit or call 0845 270 9900.
