STEVEN Pressley admits he's already "hugely impressed" with Marcus Tudgay who he hopes T will be a key signing for Coventry City this summer.
e Sky Blues boss has taken the 31-year-old out to Italy on the club's preseason tour and all the signs are positive that the 31-year-old former Nottingham Forest striker will earn a contract with the League One club.
Brought in as a link player in the Leon Clarke mould, Tudgay would T provide plenty of strength and experience to City's fresh-faced front line.
"When Marcus came in I spoke to him about the possibilities of coming to Italy and he wanted to see how the rst week went, but he was very positive and if he impresses and he enjoys it, then maybe TURN TO PAGE 38 we can get something done," said Pressley.
"It's early days yet and he's still short of fitness but his attitude, to be fair to him, has been first class.
"That's hugely impressed me and I think he can be an exceptionally fit player for us. So I am hopeful he can impress over the week."
And Pressley was certainly impressed with Tudgay's display in last night's 2-0 win over AS Roma B which saw the striker play the first 45 minutes alongside new signing Shaun Miller.
"Marcus's link play was terrific at times and that's something I have talked about since Leon Clarke left us, so his ability to retain possession for us was excellent and allowed us to play in areas of the pitch that we wanted to play."
