Play It Again (BBC1, 8pm)

After Jo Brand's attempts to learn to play the church organ Frank Skinner is challenged to master the banjo.

It's a notoriously difficult instrument to play, and having never even held the instrument before he faces an unenviable task.

Under the tutelage of mentor Pete Stanley, the comedian prepares to enter the international championships in Kansas, USA, but the pair's deteriorating relationship looks set to hamper his efforts.

Louis Theroux - The Most Hated Family In America (BBC2, 9pm)

The journalist heads for Topeka, Kansas, to meet members of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church.

Comprised almost entirely of members of the Phelps family, the organisation is vehement in its disapproval of homosexuality.

Its followers have even picketed the funerals of Iraq war soldiers in protest against America's attitude toward gay people.

Persuasion (ITV1, 9pm)

Sally Hawkins stars in this adaptation of Jane Austen's final novel and it is the best of the three offerings in this series.

Sir Walter Elliot's costly habits force him to rent out the family home and move to a more manageable abode in Bath. Daughter Anne is alarmed to find the new tenants are relatives of Frederick Wentworth (Rupert Penry-Jones) - a man she once loved, but was persuaded not to marry.
