Sunday Mercury SAYS: Poor education.

IT is not yet known whether the toddler being treated at a Midland obesity clinic has been over-fed or is suffering from hormonal or genetic problems.

What is clear is that many children in the region are fat because they eat too much.

In later life this can lead to physical and psychological problems.

This has as much to do with bad education as it does with gluttony.

Both parents and kids must be made aware of the importance of exercise and a balanced diet.

Otherwise, the next generation of Brits will have a fat chance of reaching their true potential.
