Sun unveils new version of Forte for Java development environment.
Sun Microsystems Inc has introduced Forte for Java release 2.0, the latest version of its cross-platform, modular development environment for building Internet services-based applications.
The new release features support for the latest version of JavaServer Pages, a software product for the building of platform-independent, truly interactive web pages.
Other enhancements include an ability for developers to access data from relational databases and other sources using Java programming and the Forte TeamWare source code control system for simplifying team development work.
A beta version of Forte for Java release 2.0 is currently available. The full product will be available in January. Pricing information was not disclosed.
