Worldwide Computer Products News-13 May 2005-Sun and Sybase agree to extend alliance to include support for Solaris for the x64 Platform(C)1995-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.comSun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq:SUNW) and Sybase, Inc. (NYSE:SY) have announced that they have extended their alliance to include Sybase support for the Solaris Operating System on the x64 platform.
As a result of the agreement the companies will collaborate on development and performance engineering activities to help customers with their migrations to cost-effective computing platforms.
Support will be supplied by Sybase for the Solaris OS on the x64 platform in its Adaptive Server Enterprise and Sybase IQ and SQL Anywhere data management solutions. Sybase products such as Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, SQL Anywhere Studio, Replication Server and Open Client Server will be certified on Solaris10 OS /x64.
Products are expected to be available from Sybase in the fourth quarter 2005. No pricing information was available.
