Sultanate Participates in UNESCO Session in Paris.

Paris, May 29 (ONA) --- The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, today took part at6thsession of theGeneral Assemblyof the States Parties to theConventionfor the Safeguarding of the IntangibleCultural Heritage,which was held in UNESCO HQs' today in Paris.

The meeting discussed a range of important topics, such as theelection of the members of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the current status for all the elements at the representative list for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage.

The Sultanate succeeded in listing 7 cultural intangible elements on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List namely Bara'a Art, Ayala Art, Taghrud Art, Razfa Art, Arabian Coffee and Al Majalis.
