Suited and booted and ready to run; now that this year's santa dash has been officially launched, GEMMA JALEEL tells you how to enter.

A HOST of familiar faces toured the city in an open-top bus with Father Christmas to launch this year's Santa Dash.

They all donned Santa suits and beards at the Pier Head to support the UK's biggest festive fun run, which takes place in December.

The Thomas brothers - Corrie's Ryan, who plays Jason Grimshaw, and Adam, who stars in Emmerdale as Adam Barton, plus Scott who appeared in reality show Love Island - turned out in force yesterday.

They were joined by Liverpool actors Philip Olivier and Kurtis Stacey, students from The City of Liverpool College, plus representatives from the event's official charities - Radio City's Cash for Kids, Everton in the community and Zoe's Place Baby Hospice. Former Brookie actor Philip said: "It's been a while since I've done the Liverpool Santa Dash, so I thought it was time to get back out there.

"It's time to pull on the red suit again and dash around this fantastic city. It's a brilliant event for all the family, with Santas raising thousands of pounds for charity."

| When is the Santa Dash? It is being held on Sunday, December 4, and starts at the Pier Head at 9.30am, finishing at Liverpool Town Hall.

After dashing around the city, all Santas collect a commemorative medal.

| Can families take part? Of course, the little ones also have their own fun run - the 1k Mini-Dash for youngsters aged 12 and under. It starts in Castle Street when the main Santa Dash has finished and also finishes at Liverpool Town Hall.

| How can you register? Runners are encouraged to sign up to make the 5k festive fun run bigger than ever in a bid to win back the world title from Las Vegas.

More than 1,500 have already registered.

A Santa suit is included in the entry fee, but blue Santa suits and Mini Dash numbers are both limited to 500 places.

Red suit registration costs PS23, blue suit registration costs PS25 and the Mini Dash is PS11, all including a small booking fee.

| Santa suit collection is available from Rapid Discount Outlet from November 1 to December 3. To enter, visit www.btrliverpool.com/santa-dash-enter
