Suitable nominees wanted.

The board wants expressions of interest from suitable candidates for positions on the Health Information Strategy Action Committee, the National Advisory Committee on Health and Disability, and the Ministers' Advisory Group for Pacific Island Affairs.

NZNO's management team identified the three boards as the most relevant for NZNO from a List supplied by the Council of Trade Unions (CTU). The CTU is frequently called on by government to propose CTU nominations for boards but the CTU believed it would be useful to have a List of willing and suitable candidates for other boards for which no formal invitation is received. The CTU has developed a list of boards for which it would be possible to put forward nominees without a formal government invitation and has invited affiliates to provide the names of suitable people.

NZNO chief executive Geoff Annals said the three boards stood outside NZNO's existing process for selecting suitable people to represent it on different organisations.

The board decided to call for expressions of interest for the three boards and forward those names to the CTU for action.
