Suicides: Three people commit suicide.

KARACHI, June 1 -- A matriculation student Muhammad Kashif Shekhani committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the residential building Rabia Heights in Metroville, Block 3 situated on the main Abul Hassan Ispahani Road on Monday. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Just as the news spread about the suicide of Kashif in the locality, a young girl in Metroville, Block 5, identified as Shabnam, daughter of Ashraf Cheema, also committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of Margalla Apartments.

She was rushed to a private hospital where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Station House Officer (SHO) Haider Ali Khan said the deceased committed suicides over different issues. Some unconfirmed reports suggested that both the victims wanted to get married but committed suicide on the refusal of their parents. Separately, a teenaged boy committed suicide near Gulshan-e-Ghazi. Mochko Police Station SHO Mohammad Farman said the deceased Azizur Rehman, 19, son of Nasarullah, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan.
