Suicide jump kept secret.

MOSCOW: Ukrainian police kept silent for four days about a teenager's death, apparently fearing a rash of copycat suicides.

They revealed yesterday that 13-year-old Alina Solohubova had leapt to her death from a nine-storey building in the western city of Lviv on Monday in what appeared to be a suicide.

Two girls in eastern Ukraine also killed themselves on Monday, when they jumped off the roof of a ten-storey building together.

No motives were offered, but the girls may have been imitating a triple suicide in Moscow in February and a double suicide in western Ukraine just a few weeks later.
