Sugar crisis result of incumbent government's wrong policies: Rao Sikandar Iqbal.

OKARA, August 24, 2009 (Frontier Star): The former Federal Minister for defence Rao Sikandar Iqbal said that recent sugar crisis is a result of incumbent government's wrong policies. While talking to the reporters at his home he said that whenever crisis of food items emerges in the country, the Government ignorance has big role in it. He said that the poor are compelled to purchase sugar on high prices due to artificial crisis of sugar in the country. He said that record production of sugar cane was reported in last year and large reservoirs of sugar was present in sugar mills but despite of all the masses are compelled to face artificial sugar crisis. The hoarders and profiteers are taking advantage of government's wrong policies and inefficiency, creating artificial crisis and looting the innocent masses with both hands. He added. The government has been blackmailed by owners of sugar mills and increased the price of sugar which is out of access from the masses. He added. He suggested the government for removing the present sugar crisis that government should import cheap sugar from India and other countries on emergency basis, which has compelled the hoarders and profiteers to take out their hiding sugar stocks in front of domestic market that would discourage the hoarders and profiteers but the leaders have no fore sight.
