Sudan: Arrangements to Collect Zakat from Expatriates theough Embassies.

Medani, Mar. 8 (SUNA) -- The Secretary General of the Sudanese Expatriates Organ, Ambassador Isam-Eddin Awad Mutwali, has announced establishment of a permanent exhibition of investments at the Sudanese Expatriates Organ, revealing ongoing arrangements with the Zakat Chamber to collect Zakat from the expatriates through Sudan embassies.

At a press conference in Medani, the capital of Gezira State, he disclosed that large efforts are led by the government to restore the confidence of Sudanese nationals working abroad through 28 packages in the economic and service sectors for expatriates, provided through the departments of the organ to improve the conditions of expatriates and to raise their revenues.

He acknowledged that the low revenues of expatriates on the state treasury, referring to arrangements for the enhancement of expatriate transfers to reach four million dollars in the current year. He pointed to the qualitative services provided by the Fund, through the Center for Migration Studies, on the dangers of illegal immigration through the Center for Migration Studies in addition to the scientific studies provided by the organ.

He affirmed that the Sudanese Expatriates Organ is aware about the issues of Sudanese working abroad, expressing his praise for the outstanding performance of the branch of the agency Gezira State.

He pointed to the ongoing efforts to implement the unified window system that draw all services to facilitate the administrative procedure for the expatriates.

Meanwhile, the Director of the branch of the Sudanese Expatriates in Gezira State, Azhari Mahmoud, has announced the signing of a memo of understanding with the Graduates Recruitment Body in the state to employ the graduate sons of expatriates in jobs at the Expatriates Organ and providing them with small-scale, individual and collective projects.

He stressed that the implementation of serious investment projects will be encouraging to the expatriates and increasing their revenues for supporting the national economy.
