Stuff Holiday Stockings With Play Value

MILWAUKEE, Wis., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Put a little different spin on your traditional candy canes and other stocking stuffers.

You can add fun and play value with BRIO's candy-cane striped Spinning-Boiler Engine or any of the other new, innovative engines and wagons that BRIO(R) Wooden Railway is rolling out just in time for the holidays.

Action features or fun noisemakers are built into the five new Wooden Railway vehicles to stimulate the senses and add another dimension to young train engineers' play.

When a child pushes the Spinning-Boiler Engine, for example, the red-and-white striped boiler spins around, stimulating the visual sense and helping the child build an understanding of the relationship between cause and effect.

"Whatever journey their imaginations take them on, children will build manual dexterity, strengthen hand/eye coordination, solve problems and have fun playing with BRIO's new Action Express rolling stock," said Peter F. Reynolds, president of BRIO Corporation, based in Germantown, Wis., just west of Milwaukee.

The new vehicles include the Rocking Car that rocks its passenger as it rolls along the track; the Chiming-Bell Car with a bright blue bell that merrily rings as the car is pushed; the Trusty Tow Car with a BRIO person and a magnetic towing rope; and the Battery Engine that goes backward and forward, with a headlight that really works. These vehicles are appropriate for children three years and older; the Spinning-Boiler Engine is appropriate for children two and older.

BRIO Wooden Railway, the No. 1 selling wooden railway in the world, has won numerous international awards for fun, quality, safety and durability. BRIO toys are available in specialty toy stores. For a list of retailers, call BRIO toll-free at 888-274-6869.
