Student success.

ART students in Northumberland have chalked up a magnificent team effort -after everyone on the course earned a place at their chosen university.

The 13 students at the Northumberland College in Ashington have achieved the 100% success rate on the foundation diploma in art and design, which they will complete this month.

The course is renowned for its students' record of progressing to higher education.

One of the group, Samantha Frew, 19, from Amble, will study interior design at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art.

Tutor Patrick O 'Doherty said: "This is a tremendous achievement by our students.''
