Student stunt shuts motorway.

Seven students caused chaos on the M1 yesterday when a charity stunt led to part of the motorway being closed. The group of students were spotted near Junction 11, strolling along the hard shoulder. Police closed the motorway while they were led away to nearby Dunstable police station. The students from Imperial College, London, were collecting money from drivers for the British Heart Foundation. A police spokesman said the students had been released after "they had the error of their ways pointed out to them".
