Student hurt in gang attack.

A STUDENT is in hospital with serious injuries after being beaten unconscious by a gang.

The young man and a friend had been waiting for a taxi outside Armagh courthouse at 3.30am yesterday when they were attacked.

Five men, who arrived at the scene in a red car, chased the students towards the technical college.

One suffered serious head injuries, including a broken jaw and cheek bones, a perforated ear drum and severe bruising after being caught.

And a man was recovering in hospital last night from gunshot wounds to both legs and an arm after a paramilitary-style attack in the Ballymurphy area of Belfast.
