Student banged on window to scare peeping tom.

Byline: By MARK STEAD South Wales Echo

Police are hunting a peeping tom who stared a teenage student as she undressed. The pervert was spotted peering through the window from the garden of a house in Cathays earlier this week.

The student, 19, of Tewkesbury Street, Cathays, screamed when she saw the man staring at her at around 2am on Tuesday.

It is the latest in a string of voyeurism incidents in the area over the last year.

The second year history and sociology student at Cardiff University, who was in her ground floor bedroom at the time, said: 'When I realised he was looking at me, I banged on the window to scare him away.

'I just screamed and ran out of my room.'

Police found an ear print on the window and have since examined it for any signs of DNA.

They have now appealed for any with information about this or peeping tom incidents, call your local police station or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Pc Bob Keohane said: 'It can be very upsetting for their victims, and we always advise them to report it to police, where it will be dealt with seriously and in confidence.'
