Stryker finalises Orthovita takeover.


US orthopaedic implants and medical equipment maker Stryker Corp (NYSE:SYK) on Tuesday said it had wrapped up the acquisition of orthobiologic and biosurgery products specialist Orthovita (NASDAQ:VITA).

The deal will significantly increase Strykera[euro](tm)s orthobiologics product portfolio and enhance its position in the spine, orthopaedics and biosurgery sectors, the buyer said in a press release.

The deal, worth USD3.85 (EUR2.70) per share, or a total of USD316m, was announced on 16 May.
