Stroh's top wholesalers honored with "Proud Lions." (Stroh Brewery Co. honors excellence in wholesaler operation)

Stroh's top wholesalers honored with "Proud Lions"

The Stroh Brewery Co. recently presented its annual Proud Lion award to 50 of its top wholesalers throughout the nation. The award honors excellence in areas of operation including sales, distribution, service, marketing, product control and administration.

Stroh selects its winners from a network of 850 wholesalers nationwide. This year the Proud Lion winners were presented their awards at a May banquet held in Las Vegas.

"Achieving Proud Lion status requires a strong sense of commitment to the goals outlined for each wholesaler," said William Henry, Stroh chief operating officer. "Competition among other brewers and even external pressures can make a wholesaler's job difficult. Proud Lion wholesalers overcome such obstacles and push ahead to better their organization.

"The 1990 award winners," Henry continued, "clearly have met the year's past challenges and can be very proud of the outstanding work they have done."

In addition to the naming the Proud Lion winners, Stroh selected 14 wholesalers as Golden Lion recipients. Golden Lion winners represent the top echelon of Stroh wholesalers.
