Striking features at Park Central attract wide range of buyers.

A spiral staircase in timber and metal is the striking focal point of a new duplex apartment at Park Central, Crest Nicholson's huge scheme in the regenerating city.

Part of the wider Attwood Green redevelopment, the expanding residential area will provide more than 1,500 homes in a mixture of styles and tenures.

Successive phases have been successfully sold to a wide range of buyer types, including those after a rare new arrival on the city living scene, two and three storey town-houses with gardens.

Apartment 21 at 2, Lee Bank Middleway is a generous two bedroom duplex design of 1,176 sq ft, close to Five Ways, Broad Street and the city centre.

Available through DTZ Residential priced at pounds 253,950, it is ready for immediate occupation, complete with all flooring and light fittings.

The interesting apartment follows the outside curve of the distinctive building, its floorplan resembling three segments of the larger "orange", its outer walls longer than those on the inside, used cleverly for inside, plumbed areas.

On the lower level is a large, open-plan living area, taking up the widest portion of the apartment and full advantage of the glazed outer walls with two sets of French windows.

The contemporary curving staircase stands in the centre of the room as a sculptural feature in its own right. Further into the building is the fitted kitchen, entrance hall and cloakroom, extra internal angles taken up by storage areas.

Upstairs are the two double bedrooms, to either side of the staircase landing, one with a bathroom and the other with large shower.

Remaining town houses are currently available from just under pounds 250,000 for four bedroom layouts.

Selling points of the emerging scheme, part of the 10 year development plan, include the landscaped park areas. The eight acre mixed use site will also include commercial and retail space and public open space.

Details are available from the sales centre on Bath Row, open every day from 10 am to 5 pm.
