Strictly charity dancing.

NORMANBY residents danced the night away to help raise funds for Zoe's Place baby hospice.

Dancers as old as 90 showed off their ballroom and sequence steps at the event at Eston and Normanby Social Club.

The annual fundraiser, organised by Bill Blenkinsopp and Phyllis Thomas, is now in its fourth year.

During the evening a cheque for pounds 2,500 was presented to the baby hospice and a further pounds 400 was raised.

Phyllis, 81, a retired shop worker from Normanby said: "It went very well. Everybody said what a brilliant night it was.

"You would be surprised at the age of the groups. They were nearly all over 70.

"We started off four years ago with 20 people. This year we sold more than 70 tickets."
