Baby's name: Blossom Phillips Date and place of birth: Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil, on July 7 Weight: 7lb 1 1/2oz Parents: Hannah Phillips, 29, from Ebbw Vale, and Scott Phillips, 42, from Merthyr Tydfil Mum's story: "I had nicknamed Blossom throughout a very stressful pregnancy because I'm such a worrier.
If I had a day where I wasn't worried I'd actively find something to worry about.
"Before the dating scan I had had eight scans through the early pregnancy unit to reassure me.
They were brilliant with ample patience for someone who was so neurotic.
I went up on one occasion for pain which turned out to be trapped wind - this became obvious when the sonographer prodded slightly hard and I broke wind!
"When she arrived after a brilliant labour - a mere six hours after getting in the pool - she looked like her name should be Blossom. "Blossom is long, like her father, with his toes, but clever like her mother. Neither of us want her to inherit our noses.
"A few weeks ago I thought she had mild hypothermia. I phoned the hospital who told me to wrap her up and keep an eye. When Scott got home it was like Barbados in the living room - even the dog had her sunglasses on.
"I had put so many layers on the baby she couldn't move her arms and even her eyebrows - which I haven't drawn on despite every single person we meet asking me if I have - were sweating.
"When Scott re-took her temperature because her forehead was so sweaty, the thermometer slipped and the cardboard came off the back - I had to phone the hospital to apologise!
"I'm writing her a letter each week of her first year which I'll put into a book for her 21st birthday.
It should be an interesting read."
