Stress on sustainability of buildings.

A seminar on "The triple bottom line of eco-buildings" was held by the Qatar chapter of The Institution of Engineers - India (IEI) at the Ashoka Hall at the Indian Cultural Centre.

Ahmad al-Jolo, chairman of the Qatari Society of Engineers, and Seenu S Pillai, the honorary secretary of the IEI were the guest speakers.

Jolo spoke about the importance of sustainability in the building industry and described the various rating systems for ensuring the construction of green buildings.

Pillai focused his presentation on indoor environment quality, discussing recent trends and developments in technology to improve indoor air quality.

He described the various returns on investment and the cost benefit analysis of constructing green and environment friendly buildings.
