Strategy Analytics advises on a cut in GPRS prices.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-10 July 2003-Strategy Analytics advises on a cut in GPRS prices(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Research and consulting firm Strategy Analytics Inc has completed a report on GPRS adoption and concluded that prices will have to fall if the technology is going to be successful.

The company claims that GPRS prices are currently at between USD10 and USD20 per Mb and this figure will have to fall to USD5 per Mb to encourage adoption. The price cut would also maximise companies' revenues from data services, claims Strategy Analytics.

Operators have reportedly been moving in the right direction, claims Strategy Analytics, as prices today are less expensive when compared to the price of data services one year ago.
