Store owner's crash shock.

A MERCEDES ploughed through the window of Cardiff's only home brew specialist shop yesterday, causing thousands of pounds of damage.

Barbara Parnell, owner of Home Brew Crew, spoke of her upset after the car smashed through the plate glass window at the front of her Donald Street shop.

However, Ms Parnell's shock was tempered by relief as she revealed that the car had hit the part of the shop in which grandson Theo, four, usually plays in the school holidays.

"All I saw was the car once it had already come through the window," she said.

"I didn't see the impact because I was in the back of the shop, I only heard the sound of the glass breaking.

"My grandson could have been standing where the car came through because we look after him in the school holidays."

The occupants of the white P-reg Mercedes walked away from the incident unharmed. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.

Any customers of the Home Brew Crew who wish to order while the shop is closed can access a delivery service on 07817594156.
