Store's closure job blow.

A CO-OP store is to close, putting workers' jobs at risk.

The shop, on Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton, opposite a parade of shops and restaurants, is expected to close at the end of next month.

A spokeswoman for the retailer said bosses were not planning on renewing the lease on the property, which is due to expire soon.

It is thought around 25 jobs are at risk, with the shop to due shut on November 30.

The spokeswoman said efforts were being made to offer staff roles at other stores.

One employee said: "I never thought there would be a day when they would make us redundant."
