Storage and more in this six-box bed.
The practically is in the 34-inch-high headboard. Its upper part angles back toward the mirrored wall to provide comfortable support for reading. Hinged near the mattresses, two 22- by 48-inch doors tilt forward to reveal storage compartments. Between these, a narrow center module has three switches to control overhead reading lights, outside floodlights, and a security alarm system.
The other three sides are just 12 inches high. The top halves of the two-level boxes are 16 inches wide and project 4 inches beyond the lower halves. On each top half, a 6-inch-wide skirt masks a row of make-up lights mounted underneath. The dimmer-controlled lights, spaced 9 inches on center, provide a soft glow in the room at night. Woodscrews and metal brackets hold the sections together.
