Stop these fascists now; Letters.

I RECALL vividly at the end of the Second World War there were shouts of "never again", referring to fascism being eliminated under Hitler in Germany and his allies in Italy and Japan.

My uncle Robert Charlton, with hundreds of others, was taken prisoner at Dunkirk in 1940 and marched right through to a camp in Poland until the Russian advance freed all the Nazi camps five years later.

I was 12 years old when my uncle Robert came home and will never forget him walking through the door at my auntie's house next to the Royal Hotel on Prince Consort Road in Gateshead.

It is now 75 years since the war ended and the fact that fascist rightwing candidates have been allowed to stand again in Germany with, for the first time, a fascist candidate being elected. All we need now is another fascist dictator working his or her way through the ranks.

We have experienced what fascist rule is capable of - now I believe they should be prevented from standing for election before we see another Hitler or Mussolini show their ugly heads, for the sake of future generations.
