Stones girl, 14, hooked like him; EXCLUSIVE.
HEATH Ledger's sudden death has left ex-drug addict Georgie Calder thinking: "It could have been me."
Pretty Georgie - daughter of former Rolling Stones producer Tony Calder - had her first taste of cocaine at 14 and quickly developed a dangerous dependency on a cocktail of illegal and prescription drugs valium and codeine.
She TWICE overdosed on medication - like that believed to have killed Ledger. Georgie, 25, told The People: "I was exposed to glitzy lifestyle from a very young age. I took drugs not just because they were there but also because of a lack of confidence, not believing I was good enough and feeling ugly."
At 16, she moved in with a rich boyfriend and was feeding a pounds 1,000-a-day cocaine habit. Her mum barred her from returning home until she beat her addiction.
Georgie twice overdosed on painkillers. She said: "The second time I ended up in hospital in a complete mess. I was lucky to survive."
The near-death shock persuaded her to change.
She had three months of intensive therapy at The Priory clinic followed by out-patient care.
Georgie now runs Richardson Calder, a clinic she has set up with her mum Karen, near her west London home.
They go to schools and businesses to talk about drug addiction. Georgie said: "Hearing about Heath has really brought everything back and reminded me just how close I came. I am better now, but I'll never be cured."
ADDICTED: Georgie; DEADLY: Valium
