I was enjoying the "New Ammo for 2016" review in the June issue--until I came to the last item: the Winchester M-22 Subsonic rimfire ammo. I get really frustrated when I read articles on any type of .22 LR ammo because I wonder if I will ever see any of it on the shelves in my lifetime.
Remington's Subsonic HP ammo is very accurate in my CZ Model 452 bolt action, but I'm almost out of it, and it is impossible to find--like almost every other type of .22 rimfire ammo. It would be nice to compare results with the new Winchester ammo.
We are now in the fourth year (or more) of the rimfire ammo shortage, and we are told that hoarding is the reason. Has anyone compared factory output in the mid-2000s with output since the shortage began? I asked the same question to the NRA but received no response.
Forgive my frustration. I still enjoy Shooting Times.
