'THE SOUND OF MUSIC' AUDITIONS: held by Sterling Community Theater for its September production. Auditions for adults will be Friday, June 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.; auditions for youths, ages 17 and under, will be Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to noon; and open auditions for all will be held on Saturday, June 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. Callbacks will take place on Monday, June 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. All children must be entering grade 4 to audition. All auditions take place at the First Church of Sterling, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road. For information, visit www.sterlingtheatre.com.

LIFESTYLE AND DIETARY TALK: on Monday, June 16, at 12:30 p.m., at the Senior Center, 1 Park St., with Tricia Silverman, a registered dietitian. She will discuss the lifestyle and dietary practices of cultures where elders are known for living long lives full of vitality and health. Explore the breakfast habits of the Abkhazians and Hunzans. Learn about the natural-foods diet of the Vilcabambans. Silverman will discuss how reducing processed foods may contribute to longevity and health. All are welcome. SHINE COUNSELOR: on Thursday, June 19, at the Senior Center, 1 Park St. A counselor will be available to answer health insurance questions. Appointments are required by calling the Senior Center at (978) 422-3032.

ELDER KEEP WELL CLINIC: on Thursday, June 19, from noon to 2 p.m., at the Senior Center, 1 Park St. For information about Keep Well Clinics and other wellness programs, visit www.vnacarenetwork.org. The next clinic is July 17.

SENIOR SAFETY TALK: on Monday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m., at the Senior Center, 1 Park St., sponsored by the Sterling Municipal Light Department. Come and learn some electrical safety information followed by a free pizza lunch at 11:30 a.m. Attendance is required for the lunch. Sign-up required by calling the Senior Center at (978) 422-3032 by Friday, June 20.

BOOK CLUB: on Thursday, June 26, at 12:30 p.m., at the Senior Center, 1 Park St. This month's selection is "The Silver Star'' by Jeannette Walls. All are welcome.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST: on Friday, June 27, from 8 to 10 a.m., at the Senior Center, 1 Park St. The cost is $2 and includes pancakes, sausage, fruit cup, tea breads, coffee and juice. This is hosted by the Friends of the Sterling Seniors.
