Sterling Vineyards 4th Annual Sterling Silver Screen Series; Classic Universal Movie Nights to Benefit Charity.

NAPA, Calif. -- Sterling Vineyards, the landmark Napa Valley winery, announced the fourth annual outdoor summer screen series to benefit the Stars & Vines Fund with the Community Foundation of the Napa Valley. Through the generosity of co-sponsor Universal Studios, the 2006 Sterling Silver Screen Series will feature classic titles in a variety of genres, from the Universal archives.

The popular outdoor screenings will begin on July 15, with To Kill a Mockingbird. This highly acclaimed 1962 film, stars Gregory Peck in his first Oscar(R) winning role, and is based on the much-loved novel by Harper Lee. Sterling Silver Screenings continue with Double Indemnity on August 5, My Man Godfrey on August 26 and conclude with The Birds on September 9.

"Our summer screen series has become a popular local tradition," said Jim O'Shea, hospitality manager at Sterling Vineyards. "It is great, affordable, family friendly fun and a good excuse for summer gatherings with friends, that raises funds for the community at the same time. This season of Universal Pictures really offers a classic for everybody -- drama, screwball comedy, film noir and Hitchcock...the master!"

Each screening offers wine tasting, a variety of concessions and festival seating on the Sterling Vineyard Meadow at Sterling Vineyards, 1111 Dunaweal Lane in Calistoga. The grounds open at 7 p.m. and guests are encouraged to arrive early, dress in warm layers and bring a picnic dinner and a blanket or low backed beach chairs. A pre-show of classic cartoons, followed by the feature presentation, begins at dusk. Ticket donations are $10 for adults and $5 for children (16 and under). All proceeds from tickets donations and a percentage of concession sales benefit the non-profit Stars & Vines Fund. More information is available online at www.sterlingvineyards.com, or by calling (877)-737-3788.

The Community Foundation of the Napa Valley is a non-profit organization that benefits many local charitable causes in need of funds. Through the Foundation, individuals, families and corporations can donate funds in trust to support the well being of all Napa County residents now and in the future. The Stars & Vines fund, founded by Sterling Vineyards with the CFNV, was established to help support various needs of the local community. Past proceeds from Sterling Silver Screenings have assisted the Calistoga Family Center, the Family Economic Success Program and the Calistoga Farmworker Camp.
