Sterling Commerce, a provider of software and services and a subsidiary of US communications holding company AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), announced on Monday (21 May) the deployment of the company's Gentran Integration Suite in support of the Health Supply Network electronic commerce service, an Internet-based supply chain network serving the pharmaceutical industry in Australia.
The Sterling Commerce supply chain implementation reportedly follows a three-year agreement signed earlier this year by 4Solutions Enterprises with Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Limited (API), Sigma Company Limited and Symbion Pharmacy Services to manage Health Supply Network.
As part of the agreement with the three wholesalers, 4Solutions Enterprises is contracted to deliver enterprise-wide IT integration between the wholesalers and distributors.
Sterling said that by using its Gentran Integration Suite, 4Solutions Enterprises will provide its three wholesalers with greater visibility into their supply chain with manufacturers and independent brokers in support of consumer requests at retail pharmacies.
Financial details were not available.
