IT enabled business services provider Steria (Euronext:RIA) revealed today that it has entered into a three-year strategic partnership with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the UK.

This contract is valued at GBP20m.

Through the agreement Steria will transform and operate the HSE's Information Systems and Technology (ISAT) services, based on a consolidated, virtualised ICT infrastructure and the introduction of a new delivery model.

This effort is expected to improve the availability, efficiency and flexibility of IT services for HSE staff. In addition, the introduction of virtual servers at the HSE will reduce power consumption and associated costs by over 70%, Steria said.

The transfer of services from the HSE's previous supplier, Logica, is due to be completed in mid-2013.
