Step to restore historical Havelis to promote tourism.
LAHORE -- Punjab Tourism Minister Raja Yasir Humayun has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is taking all possible measures to promote tourism in the country.
He was presiding over a meeting at Tourism and Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) office on Thursday to discuss matters regarding opening of Lahore's historical sites.
The meeting decided to open Asif Jah Haveli and Nau Nihal Singh Haveli for tourists.
It was also decided to maintain schools and colleges in the said Havelis and both Havelis would be open for tourists after school/college timings and during holidays.
The income, which would be generated through these Havelis, would be given to the school and college fund.
The minister said that a committee had been formed as per the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan to restore the Havelis in their real forms.
