Virginia Ruth Stearns and Irvin Leon Breckenridge III were united in marriage on the evening of May 16, 2009, at Brandon First United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Gerald Lord, uncle of the groom, and Dr. Kelly Pope.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Anthony Stearns of Brandon. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lois Ruth Folkes and the late Mr. Homer Joseph Folkes of Seminary and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hunter Stearns of Mount Vernon, Missouri.

The groom is the son of Mr. Irvin Leon Breckenridge Jr. and the late Elizabeth Gordin Breckenridge of Madison. He is the grandson of the late Ms. Barbara Pitt Gordin and the late Robert Kennington Gordin of Jackson and Mrs. Mamie Campbell Breckenridge and the late Mr. Irvin Leon Breckenridge Sr. of Raymond.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory lace gown with tulle overlay and gold thread detail featuring an A-line skirt with a scalloped edge and chapel-length train. The bride's cathedral-length tulle veil was embroidered with her married monogram. The bride's jewelry included diamond earrings, a gift from the groom, and a diamond bracelet belonging to her aunt The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of Virginia roses, sweet peas, hydrangeas, and hypericum berries. A handkerchief belonging to the bride's maternal great-grandmother was placed in the bridal bouquet.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Hannah Head and as maid of honor was Sarah Dill. Bridesmaids were Megan Folkes, cousin of the bride; Elizabeth Frey; Brandi Hewell; and Lauren Hughes. The attendants wore tulip chiffon gowns that featured ivory trim and contrasting portrait necklines. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of Hollywood and lipstick roses, hydrangeas, and hypericum berries.

Flower girls were Lauren Breckenridge, niece of the groom, and Cameron Chancelor, Reagan Chancelor, and Avery Kobs, cousins of the bride.

Serving as best man was Chandler Breckenridge, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Mitch Beckwith; Leon Breckenridge, father of the groom; Mark Hodge; Don Jones; and John Kim.

Ring bearer was Wyatt Breckenridge, nephew of the groom.

Guest book attendants were Bailey Folkes and Peyton Folkes, cousins of the bride. Program attendants were Nicole McCaa, Kellie McCaa, and Andrea McCaa.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Northpointe Red Barn in Jackson.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom's family hosted a rehearsal dinner in honor of the bride and groom at the Northpointe Red Barn.

The morning of the wedding the bride's family honored the bride and her attendants with a luncheon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jared Kobs of Madison.

Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple is at home in Brandon.
