The Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA announced on Tuesday (18 April) that it has awarded Norwegian company Leirvik Module Technology a NOK125m contract for a new module for the Snorre A platform in the North Sea.

The module, which is part of Statoil's programme to extend Snorre A's production life, comprises a new control room, cabins and galley.

The new module will also improve safety.

One Norwegian krone (NOK) is worth approximately 0.08 British pounds (GBP).
