Statement of prosecutor's witness recorded in AC against Sharif family reference.

Islamabad -- The statement of prosecutor's witness, Wajid Abdullah was recorded here Wednesday in the Accountability Court in NAB reference against Sharif family.

The hearing of the NAB reference against Sharif family was resumed in the court of Accountability Court, Judge Mohammad Bashir. Ex-PM Nawaz Sharif alongwith his daughter and son-in-law reached the court while lawyers' team was also accompanying them.

During the hearing, the statement of prosecutor's witness was recorded but due to shortage of time, statements of other witnesses could not be recorded. A Compact Disc (CD) was presented by prosecutor's witness containing recorded interviews of Hussain Nawaz and Mariam Nawaz.

The witness told that court that on December 29, Hussain and Mariam gave interviews to a private TV channel while on December 30, record of former but disqualified Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was given to NAB.

Judge Mohammad Bashir inquired from NAB witness that statement of Nawaz Sharif was consisting on how many CDs. Upon this, the witness responded that it was comprising on two CDs. During the hearing, PML-N leader Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha raised objection that prosecutor NAB was telling the witness in the ear.

Khawaja Haris and Amjad Pervez conducted cross-questioning on the witness. Khawaja Haris raised objection that the witness was neither a writer nor signatory and even did not address. Due to lack of time, statements of other witnesses could not be recorded. The court adjourned the hearing till February 13.
