State Minister and Dhofar Governor Visits Rehab Farm in Wilayat Shaleem Al Hallaniyat Islands.

Shaleem and Al Hallaniyat Islands, Mar.06 (ONA) ---- Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al- Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, visited today the Rehab Farm in the Wilayat of Shaleem and the Al Hallaniyat Islands, as part of the orientation visits organized by the Diwan of the Royal Court, represented by the Directorate General for One Million Date Palm Trees Project.

The Minister of State and the Governor of Dhofar appreciated the efforts made to grow date palm trees in the Governorate of Dhofar, using the available water to establish large agricultural oases that contribute to economic and social gains. He pointed out that this project comes within the framework of food security projects aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in many agricultural wealth products in the Sultanate and enhancing the added value of the date palm tree.

Dr. Saif bin Rashid al- Shaqsi, Director General of the One Million Date Palm Trees Project, showed a presentation entitled "The Planting of the Million Date Palm Trees: A Success Story ", in which he spoke about the noble vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to promote the date palm tree sector and implement His Majesty's directives to achieve food security in the Sultanate. He referred to the agricultural, economic, environmental, and food objectives of the project, in addition to the promising investment opportunities in this vital sector.

The presentation program included a presentation by the engineers of the million palm trees project on the importance of having an organic farm as one of the farms of the project / Masrooq Farm as a model / , presentation on the technical and research aspect of the project and its contribution to protecting the date palm trees of diseases and the use of technologies in developing and enhancing date palm productivity, in addition to a presentation about the economic and industrial aspect of the project and its contribution to the national economy, as well as a film about the project and a tour of Rehab Farm.

The visit was attended by Abdullah bin Sha'aban al- Farsi, Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Diwan of the Royal Court, a number of honorable members of the State Council and members of Majlis A'Shura, officials and sheiks in the Governorate of Dhofar.
