Stasia A. Tokarz, 80.
WORCESTER - Stasia A. Tokarz, 80, of Worcester, formerly of East
Hartford, beloved wife of the late Kazimierz Tokarz, passed away
peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Blair House in Worcester. Born
in Poland to the late Walter and Victoria (Ciurus) Spiewak, she grew up
in the Damrova Tarnoska village in Krakov, Poland and settled in the US
in 1949 after surviving a German labor camp during WWII. Stasia married
her husband Kazimierz in 1953 in Woonsocket, RI and they eventually
moved to East Hartford where they resided for over 40 years. She worked
as a supervisor for Heublein Inc. for over 30 years. She was a member of
St. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford and loved to attend Mass
every week. Stasia enjoyed sewing, gardening, singing and dancing, and
was an excellent cook and baker. An exceptional woman, she will be
dearly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Ann
Sweet and her husband Henry of Paxton, MA; her brother Roman Spiewak and
his wife Carol of Manchester; and her sister Jennie Pritchard and her
husband Lenny of Manchester. Besides her husband and parents, she was
predeceased by her brother Teddy Spiewak and her sisters, Edna Karon and
Josephine Tokarski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM
Friday, May 31 at St. Cyril & Methodius Church, 55 Charter Oak Ave.
Hartford followed by burial in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, from
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield
Ave Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to St. Cyril &
