Stars make a night to remember; REVIEW WWE SURVIVOR NEC LG Arena.

Byline: PAUL BRADLEY

GRAPPLING American wrestling superstars brought their all action show to Birmingham with a bang as the big names put on a performance to remember.

Thousands of bloodthirsty fans packed into the LG Arena and it took no more than a few minutes before they were on their feet booing the bad guys as they played every dirty trick in the book.

And their was a patriotic feel to the night when John Bradshaw Layfield, known as JBL, sang a terrible version of the American national anthem after telling the crowd that he was better than anyone else in the entire building.

Not to be outdone, hundreds of Birmingham fans soon found their voice and sang a loud, if slightly off key, 'God save the Queen'. World Wrestling Entertainment Raw veteran, Shawn Michaels, brought a dose of thrills and spills to the stage as he continuously threatened to use a metal chair to knock out his opponent. But the real heavyweight action was left until Chris Jericho took on Batista in the world heavyweight bout.

Verdict: *****
