Stardom beckons for queen of coffee.
COFFEE maker Bethan Marshall has Starbucks in Her Eyes.
The Bullring barista is forging ahead with a singing career and makes regular appearances at Starbucks' Martineau Place.
Tonight Matthew, the 21-year-old will be supporting Simon Scardanelli at the James Brindley pub at Gas Street Basin in a show organised by Birmingham International Festival Director, Derrick Knight.
He first spotted Bethan after working with Starbucks on a calendar of events to find and promote young and raw talent in the city. Derrick said: "I was told by one of Bethan's colleagues that she sang a bit so asked her to sing a few sets for me and was amazed by her voice and skill with the guitar - her style is a kind of contemporary folk.
"She told me she sang at college gigs while she was a student and had a dream of becoming a star.
"With the support of Starbucks, I'm sure her dreams will come true."
Bethan said: "Some of my colleagues joke that The Human League's immortal line 'I was working as a waitress as a cocktail bar' should be revised to 'I was working as a barista at a Starbucks Coffee Store!"
