ORGANISERS are gearing up for a star-studded evening to be held later this month at the Indian School, Isa Town.

Madhuram 2012 is being organised by Telugu Kala Samithi-Bahrain in collaboration with Out of the Box on November 30, from 6.30pm.

Indian Ambassador Dr Mohan Kumar is expected to be the chief guest and more than 5,000 people are likely to attend the event.

Part of the proceeds from the event will go towards charitable activities.

It will feature Telugu hero Dr Rajendra Prasad, actress Veda Archana, playback singers Hemachandra and Sravana Bhargavi and folk singer Madhu Priya, who will be flown in from Hyderabad for the occasion.

Dr Prasad, fondly called the 'Nata Keereti' and 'The King of Comedy' is a veteran Telugu actor who has starred in more than 200 films in Telugu and Tamil together.

He won the prestigious Nandi Award for his roles in Erra Mandaram in 1991 and Aa Naluguru in 2001.

Ms Archana is a professional classical dancer who has performed in the US, UK and Dubai. She is best known for her performances in Nenu, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Sri Ramadasu.

He participated in the Zee Television's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2005 and is the first south Indian to become a finalist in a national-level reality show.

He also won the MAA Best Debut Music director award for the film Ride.

Ms Bhargavi is an upcoming playback singer with many noteworthy songs in her account. She won the Big FM Rising Star Award and Music Award in the Best Folk Song category for the song Lachuvamma in Rajanna in 2012.

Madhu Priya is a child prodigy who rose to prominence with her self-penned song Aadapillanamma, which she wrote in the agony of being a girl child in her family.
