Star names fail to shine in dull drama; Movies.

PARANOIA

Harrison Ford. Gary Oldman. Liam Hemsworth. Amber Heard. Four big names who, for unfathomable reasons, signed up for a timely but deeply formulaic thriller about the corrosive effects of greedy businessmen. Even as a straight-to-DVD release, this would fail to pass muster.

Hemsworth is a down-on-his-luck recently sacked loser whose former boss (Oldman) blackmails him into working for his business rival (Ford) as a mole. While seduced by the high life - and making whoopee with Heard, whom he uses to help steal vital files - his conscience finally kicks in.

The film is slickly made but the story contains not one, single, solitary surprise. A blind dyslexic with little control over a typewriter would have churned out a more exciting script than this.
