Stacked film chips for high-loss MLCC capacitors.

NIC Components introduced its NSHC and NSPU Series stacked film chip capacitors that combine small component size with stability over time, immunity from cracking and low dielectric loss, making them suitable for high-loss and less-stable MLCC capacitors. Both ranges are RoHS compliant. The NSHC uses a stacked metallized polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) film construction that helps it achieve an operating temperature range of up to -55[degrees]C to +125[degrees]C with high soldering heat resistance. The NSPU features high capacitance value using stacked metallized acrylic resin film construction. Parts are available in 0805, 1206 and 1210 formats with capacitance values from 0.068 [micro]F to 1.0 [micro]F with a 16V DC voltage rating. The operating temperature range is -40[degrees]C to +85[degrees]C.
